Sashiko Mending Kit
This kit is an introduction to sashiko mending, a Japanese technique of functional embroidery originally developed to patch and insulate clothing. Included are my favourite high quality tools and fabrics that I use in my own sashiko and visible mending projects.
The kit includes everything you will need to get started, you just need your favourite garment that needs mending and a pair of scissors!
Included in the starter set:
- sashiko needles x 2
- white sashiko thread 20m
- 11 x 14 cm sashiko design transfer (stick on, stitch, then rinse off. No need for marking pencils and rulers)
- sashiko mending booklet ( a handy guide that includes a description of the materials, stitching technique, and basic how-to's to get started in your own practice of sashiko-inspired mending.
- 16 x 22 cm denim for patching
packaged in cotton pouch which is perfect for storing your sashiko supplies.
Available in 2 designs: seven linked treasures (circles) and hemp leaves (star)
Even if you don't have anything to patch you can use the materials to practice these techniques, make decorative embellishments to your clothing, or even make something just for fun, like coasters or a pattern sampler.
