Coconut oil is a such versatile oil with numerous benefits, ranging from personal health to household applications. It is derived from the flesh of the coconut fruit and is available in both refined and unrefined forms. We love coconut oil and use it for so manny things - we thougth we’d share some of our favourite uses, as well as some of our communities favourite uses for coconut oil!
Cooking and Baking
Coconut oil has a high smoke point, making it great for cooking and baking at high temperatures. It is an excellent alternative to vegetable oils and can be used for sautéing, frying, roasting, and baking. Additionally, coconut oil adds a unique flavor and aroma to dishes, making it an excellent ingredient for curries, stews, and soups.
Skincare
Coconut oil is an excellent moisturizer for the skin. It is rich in antioxidants and has antimicrobial properties that can help reduce the risk of skin infections. It is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin, and can be used as a natural alternative to commercial skincare products.
Hair Care
Coconut oil is an excellent natural hair conditioner. It penetrates the hair shaft, nourishing and strengthening the hair from within. It can also help reduce frizz and prevent hair breakage. Simply apply coconut oil to your hair and leave it on for a few hours before washing it off with shampoo.
Oil Pulling
Oil pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic practice that involves swishing oil around in your mouth for several minutes to promote oral hygiene.
